General Questions

What is the age requirement for kindergarten enrollment?

Children must be 5 years old by September 1 to enroll in kindergarten at Bridges K-8 Charter School.

Do you offer transitional kindergarten?

Yes, we offer a transitional kindergarten program for children who turn 5 between September 2 and September 1st. Students turning 5 by June 2nd, 2025 are prioritized in our 2024 lottery. (see Handbooks & Policies)

How do I enroll my child?

Documents and Requirements

What documents are required for enrollment?

You will need a birth certificate or proof of age, proof of residency (such as a utility bill or rental agreement), emergency contact information, and your child’s immunization records. (see Handbooks & Policies)

What immunizations are required?

Please refer to our Handbooks & Policies for a detailed list of required immunizations in line with state regulations.

Curriculum and Programs
What does the kindergarten curriculum cover?

Our curriculum covers foundational reading and math skills, social-emotional learning, science, and the arts.

Do you offer extracurricular activities?

Bridges Charter School provides various after-school programs and extracurricular activities, such as music, art, and sports.

Do you provide transportation?

Currently, Bridges Charter School does not provide bus transportation, but we have information on local services that many families use.

Is there a meal plan?

Our school offers a cafeteria service with hot and cold lunch options. Lunch and breakfast are provided free for all students.

Special Needs
Does the school accommodate children with special needs?

We offer Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and make every effort to provide accommodations for children with special needs. (see Handbooks & Policies)

Parental Involvement
How can parents get involved?

Parents are encouraged to join our PTA, attend parent-teacher conferences, and participate in school events and volunteer opportunities. There are many opportunities for volunteering in the TK and Kindergarten classrooms.  (see Communications Systems)

How do you handle parent-teacher communication?

We value open communication and offer several channels such as newsletters, parent portals, and scheduled meetings for parents to stay informed. (see Communications Systems)
